How to Hire a Clown
So, you have decided to hire a clown or other entertainer for your child's
birthday party or other private event. Here are a few tips you can use
when looking for an entertainer.

Create a list of local kids' entertainers.

Ask other friends who have hired one how their performance was.

Call up entertainers that meet your kids' area of interest and ask them about the
typical age-group of the audience, length of the show and what a typical
entertainment routine looks like.

Ask about their specialty - some entertainers specialize in magic and clowning - and
for instance, may not do face-painting.

Ask if you can visit another party to see their performance if you're reasonably
sure that you want to hire this entertainer.

Ask for references and get feedback from previous customers.

Book early - popular entertainers are booked at least a month in advance - late
summer and fall are the busiest.

Ensure that you have a contract.
